Personally i was flying back from Portugal and therefore missed the 1st game of the season which gave the opportunity for my brother to take my nephew along.
Prices have gone up for the same matchday experience and personally i feel £50 for a Cat B game is far too much. it was £30 last season for every game. The ST works out at £40 a game, so well worth it in those terms.
Bolton fans voted with their feet as will the majority of the travelling fans unless they have a massive london following. Havent checked the official yet but it looked like about 700 away fans, however they had to pay £50 to sit in the worst stand in the ground.
I've taken in some match reports and seen the highlights. Our match plan had to change after 3 mins when Kieran Dyer was stretchered off in agony (no surprise there!), however it is our defence that gives us the most concern with Fitz Hall picked to partner Danny Gabbidon in the centre of defence. Hall was 3rd choice last year "! and the other 2 defenders are still at the club so not sure why Warnock thinks that Hall will be good enough. The 2 full backs Orr and Hill are simply not Premier class and we must replace both with faster players, i would love to see Kyle Walker return on loan from Spurs.
The forward line is ok but perhaps a better wide player than Tommy Smith is required. That leaves the midfield and after being linked with Bowyer and Bulard, we are stuck with Derry who had a blinding season last year when we were promoted but again is not premier class and needs to be replaced. it could be that Bullard may still end up at the club, i am not sure.
The sale of the club is possibly imminent and hopefully will go through soon, i hope mittal will still be involved with Tony fernandez and we can move on.
Next Saturday Everton away!!
